Payal Salsburg Honored as the Recipient of Annual Community Service Award From Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts

We proudly share that our Partner, Payal Salsburg, is the 2022 recipient of the annual Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts’ Community Service Award. This honor is presented at AALAM’s annual banquet taking place on June 6, 2022. This award recognizes an individual who tirelessly supports the community at large. A very deserving individual, Payal’s advocacy is nothing short of extraordinary.

About Payal Salsburg
Payal Salsburg is an attorney focusing her law practice in the areas of business litigation, corporate advice and counsel, and white-collar criminal defense. She represents corporations, small businesses, and individuals in connection with an array of matters including contract and business disputes, False Claims Act litigation, and government and internal investigations. She also routinely advises closely held businesses on corporate and employment matters.

Payal also provides pro bono legal support to those in need. To name just a few instances, Payal participates in several successful CORI-sealing petitions and petitions for asylum. Her pro bono work also includes an appeal for an inmate on Florida’s death row, litigation, and appeal assistance for a not-for-profit foundation, and invoking Hague Convention protection to return a child wrongfully removed from the United States by a parent. She is also assigned counsel for criminal matters at the Boston Municipal Court (Central).

Outside of her work as a lawyer, Payal volunteers many hours at the Saint Francis House Day Shelter, Ricesticks and Tea Asian Food Pantry, and the Massachusetts General Hospital. She is recognized for her volunteerism by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award several years in a row.

Payal Salsburg Presents on BBA Virtual CLE Program

Payal Salsburg will present a virtual CLE program with the Boston Bar Association entitled “Common Pitfalls of a Senior Associate: Ethics and Conflicts Refresher.” Payal and two co-presenters will discuss how staying up to date on ethical issues is critical to professional advancement in the legal profession.  A practical refresher course on ethics and conflicts, senior associates will learn how to avoid common mistakes that can have serious consequences. The panelists will also cover topics such as confidentiality, privilege, client communication and conflicts of interest among others.

The panel will take place on February 2nd at 1:00pm and will be held virtually by Zoom.

Payal Salsburg Speaks on Chapter 93A Claims Webinar Panel

Partner, Payal Salsburg, is a panelist for a Boston Bar Association’s webinar entitled “Chapter 93A Claims– Mastery of Critical Issues” on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at noon.  In this interactive zoom discussion, the panelists will cover the full range of Chapter 93A claims in both the business and consumer context. The discussion will discuss how Chapter 93A claims involve powerful remedies and a relatively broad scope of potentially cognizable misconduct. Payal Salsburg Named Co-Chair of BBA Litigation Section

Partner Payal Salsburg is serving as the Boston Bar Association’s 2021-2022 Business & Commercial Litigation Section Co-Chair. This committee provides members of the BBA a place to discuss the area of practice and learn more about their shared interest in business and commercial litigation. Payal and her co-chair will provide leadership and educational programming to this group of attorneys to further their learning across a wide range of relevant topic areas.

Payal Salsburg Moderates Business Litigation Session Year In Review Program

Payal Salsburg co-moderates an upcoming program for the Business Litigation Session of the Suffolk Superior Court, or BLS. The BLS provides a dedicated forum for business and commercial cases in Massachusetts and its’ justices will review major developments over the last year, including significant business litigation trends, case decisions, COVID impacts on court processes, and electronic filing. Payal Salsburg Moderates Virtual Courtroom Series Program for Women’s Bar Association

Payal Salsburg is moderating a Women In the Courtroom Committee Virtual Courtroom Series program entitled, “Perspective of the Juror” on Wednesday, June 30th at 530pm via zoom. The panelists include women attorneys Lisa Wood of Foley Hoag and Victoria Mair of Meehan, Boyle, Black & Bogdanow, PC.  They will examine remote proceedings in the courtroom from the perspective of jurors as well as trying a case before a remote jury.
