Brendan Cox Chosen as Faculty for Harvard Law Workshop

Brendan Cox has been invited to serve as a faculty member of Harvard Law School’s 2022 Fall Trial Advocacy Workshop. This workshop is for law students and is taught by practicing attorneys and judges. The curriculum addresses all aspects of a trial practice for students and culminates with participation in two mock trials that provide an opportunity for honing critical litigation skills in real-world scenarios. This program requires intensive study, preparation, and activity to enable the development of essential litigation skills in an engaging and fun environment for law students enrolled at Harvard Law.

Brendan Cox Elected to South Boston Neighborhood House Board of Directors

Brendan Cox, Of Counsel with Laredo & Smith, was elected to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for the South Boston Neighborhood House. Established over 115 years ago, the organization is the oldest continuously-operated community based non-profit in South Boston. The Mission of the South Boston Neighborhood House (The Ollie) is “to support family and neighborhood life in South Boston,” meeting the needs of the local community through programs for all ages from infants through to senior citizens. Together, the members of this organization help families experiencing social and economic stress, serving as an important safety net for the community’s most vulnerable residents. South Boston Neighborhood House is seen as a safe haven for residents of all ages where social interaction and learning opportunities are abundant. They also promote, encourage and develop health and wellness as well as independent living. Brendan proudly lends a helping hand to guide and direct the organization so that it may support as many members as possible through a wide range of support activities. Previous to his election to the Board of Directors, Brendan served as a member of the group’s Board of Advisors.

Brendan Cox Named Of Counsel to Laredo & Smith

Laredo & Smith is pleased to announce the addition of Brendan S. Cox as of Counsel to the firm as of July 1, 2019. Brendan is a trial attorney who focuses his practice in business and employment law, as well as criminal defense.

Brendan litigates all aspects of the criminal process from probable cause hearings and arraignments through complex evidentiary motions and trial. He represents clients on a wide range of matters including minor misdemeanors through serious felonies. In his business practice, Brendan advises entrepreneurs and start-up companies across many industries. He advises on employment agreements, business law matters, contracts and intellectual property concerns. Often operating as virtual in-house counsel, Brendan guides clients through important strategic business matters. He takes start-up companies through the entity selection process, drafts founder agreements, develops operational policies and devises business game plans.
