Darshana Indira Speaks About Lawyer Wellbeing at UMass Dartmouth Law School

Darshana Indira was a featured speaker at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Law School’s Field Placement Seminar on January 30, 2024. UMass Dartmouth law Professor Rontear Pendleton welcomed Darshana back to speak about lawyer wellbeing. She shared her thoughts, experiences, and advice with students as they explore practicing law in various settings. The goal of the class is to foster a smooth transition from the law school environment into the professional workplace.

Darshana Indira Presented at Practicing with Professionalism Virtual Program for New Massachusetts Attorneys

Darshana Indira presented as a panelist for the recent “Practicing with Professionalism” program through the Boston Bar Association. This programming is provided for new attorneys in Massachusetts. Darshana and her panelists hail from different practice areas, practice settings and experiences. They shared important information about the attributes of reputable attorneys and also addressed how to respond to the pressure of practicing law.  The program covered building reputations, managing relationships, connecting within the legal community, and maintaining personal well-being.

Darshana Indira Speaks At Northeastern University Law School Orientation

Darshana Indira is a featured guest speaker at Northeastern University’s law school orientation. She is participating in a program entitled “A Positive Future for Attorney Well-Being” which covers the importance of mental health and well being through law school and the legal profession.

This important program is geared at destigmatizing help-seeking behavior and educating students on the central concepts underlying well-being. Darshana shares personal stories and support for navigating stress and adversity resulting from bias, discrimination, or racism.

Darshana Indira Named to Lawyers of Color Annual Hot List

Darshana Indira is named to the annual Lawyers of Color (LoC) Hot List for 2023. This list recognizes junior- and mid-level attorneys working in law firms, companies, and government agencies across the U.S. who show promise in their careers and demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession. All honorees are profiled in the LoC Hot List 2023 Issue.

Lawyers of Color is a 501(c)(3) devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities. The honorees are chosen through a two-pronged process. A LoC selection committee, composed of the editorial staff, fellows and advisers, spent months reviewing nominations and researching legal publications in order to identify promising candidates. They accepted nominations from mentors, peers, and colleagues. They also make editorial picks based on research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments, giving special attention to candidates who were active in diversity pipeline initiatives.

Darshana Indira spoke on the Employment Law Update panel for The Massachusetts Bar Association’s 44th Annual Labor & Employment Spring Conference at Suffolk University. The event welcomed judges and accomplished attorneys who provide significant thought leadership in the areas of labor and employment law.

A rising star in the legal industry, Darshana Indira is the newest member of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Nominating Committee. In this role, she joins a group of legal industry leaders to evaluate and nominate applicants for the MBA’s officer and delegate leadership positions.

Darshana Indira Presents on Microaggressions in the Workplace

Darshana Indira is a panelist for the Massachusetts Bar Association’s program, “Microaggressions in the Workplace: Part 2” taking place on Thursday, February 9th from 5:30-7pm.  This virtual program is sponsored by the MBA’s Civil Rights & Social Justice Section and is part of the Bar’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee’s (DEIC) three-part training on how to develop and maintain a diverse network and workplace by creating safe, healthy and supportive spaces.
