Matthew Kane Joins L&S’s Business Litigation Practice as Partner

Boston, MA— Laredo & Smith, LLP has announced a new partner, Matthew A. Kane, who has joined the firm’s business litigation practice. Mr. Kane represents financial services institutions, banks, businesses and individuals in an array of disputes concerning finance, employment, construction, real estate and general business litigation.

Prior to his role at Laredo & Smith, Kane was of counsel to Bulkley, Richardson, and Gelinas, LLP. There, he successfully tried several cases to verdict, argued and won appeals before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and appeared regularly in state and federal trial courts across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He has worked in litigation at a small Boston firm, was a law clerk at the City of Boston Law Department and an intern for the Honorable Elizabeth B. Donovan. Mr. Kane has been included in the SuperLawyers list of Massachusetts “Rising Stars” for the last four years.

Kane is admitted to the state bar in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, to the United States District Courts for Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and to the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Mr. Kane is a graduate of the Noble and Greenough School, Connecticut College and is a cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School. He is a resident of Needham, MA.
