Donna Frankel is an experienced business lawyer who works with the firm’s corporate clients. Donna advises business owners, executives, and other professionals in matters related to entity choice, contracts, development of business strategies, compliance, finance and other strategic business initiatives. She has a particular strength assessing risk and recommending ethical and pragmatic solutions for effective daily operations. Donna is a veteran counselor who provides sound advice to all levels of an organization, including owners, board members, and senior management.
Prior to joining Laredo & Smith, Donna was Senior Vice President, Managing Director and General Counsel for a globally-diversified timberland, agriculture and renewable energy company based in Boston. In this senior advisory role, Donna provided legal and management guidance on global operations and compliance matters. As a member of the executive leadership team, she was an integral leader advising the executive team and board of directors on corporate strategy and sophisticated legal matters. She also served as the co-chair of the organization’s diversity and inclusion committee. Donna’s experience also includes working in large law firms, honing her legal knowledge in the areas of corporate law, real estate, leasing, workouts, and insolvencies as well as debt and equity financing. Before becoming a lawyer, Donna was a senior tax accountant, a skill which lends a deep credibility and support to clients as they make financial decisions over the course of their business’ lifecycle. Donna grew up in a family business – a 2,000 acre Christmas tree farm in Northeastern Pennsylvania – and presently serves on its board of directors.
