Brendan Cox is a trial attorney who focuses his practice in business and employment law as well as criminal defense. He provides practical legal strategies to individuals and companies regionally. Clients look to Brendan for solutions that maintain maximum protection and minimize risks. His dual focused practice allows him to proactively manage daily matters while quickly resolving disputes as they arise.

Brendan’s extensive criminal defense experience includes litigating all aspects of the criminal process from probable cause hearings and arraignments through complex evidentiary motions and trial. Brendan represents clients on a wide range of matters including minor misdemeanors through serious felonies.  The hallmark of his practice lies in his ability to take complex concepts and effectively break down the facts so that prompt decision-making is manageable for clients.

In his business practice, Brendan advises entrepreneurs and start-up companies across many industries. He quickly integrates their business models with legally compliant and actionable plans. He advises on employment agreements, business law matters, contracts and intellectual property concerns. Often operating as virtual in-house counsel, Brendan guides clients through important strategic business matters. He takes start-up companies through the entity selection process, drafts founder agreements, develops operational policies and devises business game plans. Brendan is known for his ability to seamlessly joins forces with his clients, offering practical advice that directly impacts the success of an organization.

Prior to joining the firm, Brendan was in private practice where he spent extensive time defending clients in state and federal courts. He has deep business experience acquired while running his own firm. Brendan gained hands-on experience as an associate in a large international law firm where he handled intellectual property litigation. He also served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County division of the Massachusetts District Attorney’s office. During that time, he focused primarily on drug and gang-related issues, prosecuting more than 3000 matters to resolution and serving as sole or lead trial counsel in over 50 trials.
